The Symposium, in the context of the recently introduced obligation energy certification of buildings in Croatia, analyzed both domestic and international system of certification of energy efficiency and green building standards.

A groundbreaking ceremony for Lumini shopping centre followed by a formal luncheon took place on Wednesday, January 20th 2010 on project location - Kneginec business Zone in Varaždin. Besides Norwegian investor representatives – Verdispar group, the groundbreaking event hosted the most prominent local government officials including Head of Varaždin County, Head of Međimurje County, representatives of City of Varaždin and municipality Kneginec, director of Kneginec business zone and other respectful guests from political and business life.Press gathering was hosted by Erik Mohorović, Managing Director Verdispar, Croatia; Domagoj Pavlek, Development director, Verdispar, Croatia; and Nenad Peris, Colliers, Croatia Retail department manager.

Groundbreaking event represents a significant step forward for Verdispar and development of Lumini shopping centre projectin which Colliers, Croatia retail team successfully manages the lease process. The main contractor of Lumini shopping centre is ‘Zagorje Tehnobeton’.

Verdispar developing new-generation shopping center in Varaždin, Croatia

Verdispar, a Norwegian property investment management company acting on behalf of Scandinavian investors, is developing a first-of-its-kind shopping and entertainment center in northern Croatia. Lumini will be the country’s first new-generation shopping center, combining retail and entertainment into the “retailtainment” concept.

A 34,000 sq. m (366,000 sq. ft.) shopping and entertainment center with a 45,000 sq. m (484,000 sq. ft.) outdoor parking lot will emerge on a 102,000 sq. m (1.1 million sq. ft.) site in Kneginec municipality, with future potential for expanding both retail and entertainment areas.
